Lizzie Roberts

I started dancing when I was 3 years of age and during that time I have taken part in many shows and also taken many examinations.

I have also had the wonderful opportunity to attend The Royal Ballet School and performed at Her Majesty's Theatre In London with CLPA Wolverhampton.

In June 2000, I moved to Shrewsbury and decided to open a dance school in Bicton, Shrewsbury. We opened in Jan 2011 and have managed 100% pass rate in our exams and also 7 amazing shows. In 2019, I re-trained with a different examination board the BBO (British Ballet Organisation) of which I graduated in my Level 5 Diploma of Dance in February 2020.

'My Dance School is not just my job it is my life, I cherish every minute I spend at the school with all my wonderful pupils and hope we can have continued success in the years to come.'

“I have been dancing since the age of 4 and I have completed many shows, competitions and exams. My favourite style of dance is ballet because I love the stories that you can tell with your movement and the emotion you can convey to the audience. I also enjoy contemporary because of the freedom of expression you can have.

Some of the highlights of my dance career so far have been: receiving a scholarship and performing with the English Youth Ballet, being nominated for the choreography award by National Theatre Awards and organising a danceathon during lockdown which raised £2465 for the NHS. In 2025, I was accepted onto the LEAP ambassador training programme with the Birmingham Royal Ballet. As part of this, I got to connect a wider network of people to the joys of dance which I really enjoyed!

I can’t wait to be a part of the team and share my love for dance with others.”

I have been dancing since the age of 2, but I really fell in love with dance when I was around 6. Some of my favourite memories of growing up were the opportunities I was able to experience because of Dance. I have danced at a number of highly renowned venues, including Sadler's Wells, the Royal Albert Hall and Wembley Stadium.

I began teaching and supporting in lessons when I was 12 years old, taking my own classes independently at the age of 14. My favourite part of teaching is seeing a student's passion ignite for the art form. It was very bitter sweet leaving my previous dance school at 18 when I went to University to study psychology, but I kept dancing as part of the university team and in my second year I was contemporary captain.

When I returned from Uni I would always visit my old dance school, but when I met my now Fiancé I moved to Shrewsbury and I have now found myself at LPA. I have loved the first month of LPA, everyone is so welcoming and the atmosphere in the classes is amazing. I hope i have a long and successful future with LPA and continue the amazing work done by those who have come before me!

After graduating with a First Class Bachelor of Arts Degree with honours in Musical Theatre, I was lucky enough to gain contracts all over Europe singing and dancing every night to amazing audiences. After years professionally performing, I headed home, to Shropshire, to look for a new chapter. I landed a job in the children's entertainment world which I loved and didn't sing for a while.

When I started singing again, I struggled to be able to sing like I used to. This can happen through lack of practise. I wondered if my sound would ever return and I had to find my voice all over again. This is when my interest began in vocal training.

I worked with a number of community theatre groups who ignited my passion for teaching to all ages.

I have spent the last seven years running a fantastic theatre school who encouraged all pupils to reach their full potential. I also helped an amazing team to reach their goals through training, examinations and experience. All while teaching in a number of highly regarded schools and colleges, offering singing lessons, performing arts workshops, and concerts.

I am so excited to be able to continue vocal coaching and I am currently training in speech therapy to open up a whole new world.
